Lily Allen isn't afraid to be controversial on Twitter
Lily Allen appeared more concerned about celebrating her birthday than the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden yesterday.
American President Barack Obama upstaged Lily on her special day by announcing to the world that Bin Laden, 54 - believed to have ordered the 11 September attacks on the US in 2001 - had been shot by US forces at a compound in Afghanistan.
'I know that Osama Bin Laden is dead, but if we could all stop for a minute to consider todays REAL news I'd very much appreciate it,' Lily quipped on Twitter yesterday.
'It is my birthday, I am 26.'
The singer was just as put out last week when she found out she wasn't invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding on Friday.
'Why does bloody Joss Stone get an invite and not moi? I sang at the Diana concert too!' she moaned on the social networking site, before adding she was only joking.
