Mariah Carey didn't plan to release pregnant nude photo

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are expecting twins this spring.

Mariah Carey's naked pregnant body is featured the current issue of Life & Style, but according to hubby Nick Cannon, the cover story almost did not go down.

"That was a normal photo shoot, that wasn't really a photo shoot that we thought we were going to put out to the public," Cannon told E! News. "It was something we did at home, in our bedroom ? one light, nothing big, no hair and makeup ... And the pictures turned out so beautiful, we're like, 'the world should see this.' "

Cannon also participated in the photo shoot, but said he was less partial to his nude body being publicized.

"I don't know if people want to see me naked. Stick to Mariah. You don't want to see my butt all on the cover of a magazine. That's not fly," he added.

Instead, the daddy-to-be is occupying himself with the imminent birth of the couple's first children, twins.

"As we're counting down the last days, I get all these different feelings ... I have somewhat of a plan, depending on which day the babies come," he said.

With hosting gigs on "America's Got Talent"� and "Rollin' with Nick Cannon" on New York's 92.3 NOW, Cannon admits he has a busy schedule, but once the twins are delivered he might go M.I.A.

"There's nothing more important than the birth of your children. A lot of people might be mad at me, but I'm going to check out for a few weeks," he said.

For now, all Cannon can do is wait until he hears that special ringtone he has set on his cell phone to tell him "it's time."
