James Franco to Pursue Second PhD

James Franco is a busy, busy guy: acting, writing, filmmaking, going to school-he's even teaching a course about himself at a college in Los Angeles! And though he's currently pursuing a PhD in English from Yale, Franco is also enrolling in a second doctorate program.

That's right. In addition to all of his pursuits, the '127 Hours' actor is pursuing a second PhD at the University of Houston.

"James Franco was scheduled to enter the PhD program in Literature and Creative Writing in Fall 2011, but he requested a deferral for an additional year, which the faculty granted, so he is now scheduled to begin doctoral work here in fall 2012," a spokesperson for the school told UsMagazine.com.

Franco got his undergraduate degree from UCLA in 2008. Two years later, he got a MFA degree in writing from Columbia. He's also taken filmmaking courses at NYU.

Franco talks about his love of school in an interview with the Washington Post: "I love school... I go to school because I love being around people who are interested in what I'm interested in, and I'm having a great experience."
